Veeam Cloud Connect
Cloud-based disaster recovery and offsite backup
Veeam Cloud Connect
As a Veeam Cloud Service Provider, Applicom has the ability to configure and manage backup and replication for your entire physical and virtual infrastructure. Using Veeam Cloud Connect, customers can ensure that all of their critical data is safe by having a copy on Microsoft Azure. No VPN is required, thus reducing the network traffic overhead when transferring large amounts of data to the cloud. Depending on the requirement, little to no additional on-premises hardware is required, which makes Veeam Cloud Connect an extremely cost-effective way of backing up to cloud.
- Extend backup and replication to the cloud for disaster recovery purposes
- Failover of entire on-premises site to Microsoft Azure
- Failback of virtual machines back to on-premises environment
- Simplify networking using the Veeam network extension appliance
- Site failover simulation to test functionality with no impact on production
- No requirement for static public IP address
- WAN acceleration to reduce bandwidth consumption
- Compression and deduplication to cut down storage usage
- Bandwidth throttling scheduling to limit impact on network
In the event of a disaster, Veeam Cloud Connect allows our customers to instantly recover any machine to a Microsoft Azure virtual machine. Users can then connect to this machine via Veeam PN, which is a hybrid cloud disaster recovery solution which allows a Veeam powered client-to-site/site-to-site VPN to be brought up between users and Microsoft Azure. No static public IP address or firewall is required to take advantage of Veeam PN.
Bandwidth usage can be throttled according to a schedule, which makes this ideal for customers with a single WAN connection. For example, Veeam can be configured to limit cloud upload bandwidth to 4 Mbps between 7 am and 9 pm on weekdays, ensuring that user traffic is not affected.
